Thing #4

Commenting on blogs can create a sense of community and interactions because it allows the author to know others are reading their blogs by the comments that are attached.  If no one ever put a comment on my blog I would think that no one was reading it.  Comments help the author of the blog learn what they are doing well along with what they can work on as well.  People are more likely to participate in blogs when they have common interests and views on topics that are being discussed.

I made a comment on Kyle Christmas' Thing #6 blog because I found the schoology.com website he posted to be interesting.

Ethan Bourke's Thing #9 blog had some creative comics from the comic generator so I told him he did a good job.

I commented on Jordan Tupper's Thing #7 since he used a picture from his small hometown from Flickr.  It made me think of my hometown and look it up on Flickr.  There was only one picture on Flickr from my hometown.

Pam Hankins' Thing #7 caught my interest with the picture of all the books in the dumpster.  When I read her comment about the picture I agreed that technology is replacing books even though it is nice to be able to flip through pages.

I thought Cat Stiegler's Thing #9 was good because of the picture she made out of words using the Imagechef generator.  I figured this would be good for students to use in class even though I did not use this website for my project on this particular assignment.

One comment I left on a group conversation was about Google Maps acquiring Waze because I think it would be useful to learn about traffic jams before getting to them.  http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/google-maps-and-waze-outsmarting.html#gpluscomments

I also left a comment on the group conversation for Teacher blogging Basics because it had a good step by step post on how to set up a blog.  I thought it was informative and good for letting other teachers know what technology is available to them and how they can create an account to use it for the benefit of their students.  http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=5338969806910204791&postID=7756631036581715038&page=1&token=1371348883479&isPopup=true
